The Great Walk
Miles walked
Miles still to walk

To celebrate a new year, and the launch of our new website, we are inviting you to join us in our first fundraising event. We are going to walk from Walsall to Banjul. However, as we cannot leave home in the UK we will be doing it virtually. So, how will this work?

Each day, or week if preferred, you will send us the number of steps you have walked – this could be just around your home or on your daily exercise – we’ll not make any judgements.

Steps will be converted into miles and we will move forward on our virtual journey.

Obviously the more people involved the less time it will take us to get there but we hope to arrive by the end of March - hopefully to coincide with the end of Lockdown 3.

For updates on progress see our Facebook Page.

To participate all we ask is that you make a donation to our Education Bursary (the amount is up to you) using the button below. You will then be registered to walk. After this we ask that you invite at least one other person using the suggested text/script below. You can also collect sponsors by creating a fundraiser on Virgin Money Giving.

The distance we walk each day, and the total mileage, will be presented on the counter above. We will stay in a different location each night and we will tell you something about this location each day on our Facebook page.

You can walk as much or as little as you like and join us at any point in our journey.

All money raised will go to support our Education Bursary – providing the opportunity for young Gambians to reach their full potential and contribute towards the development of their country.
